In this thesis, we measure and improve our system capacity of a hierarchical Video on Demand system and propose a fault - tolerance protocol to let our system more stability. Initially, our VoD server divides into real - time server and storage server. In this architecture, our system can support fifty clients play - request. Then we merge our rear - time server and storage server by one virtual process, batch, two virtual process method. The results show that our system can support the most clients (twelve) by tow virtual process. Finally we consider the situation that our system happen error and propose a protocol to solve these error situation.
