Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 電機工程學研究所 === 86 ===   In a modern complex system, its main purpose is to mintain the execution of the mission. It is desired to diagnose the faults as soon as possible and then repair the faults under the complicated structure. However, optimizing a diagnostic sequence of tests is known to be an NP-complete problem.   This thesis proposes an efficient method, called entropy-directed serch, to diagnose an engine system of the car by applying the information flow model. It is shown that our method can find the best testing choice in a minimal tine of diagnostic procedure.
