To enhance the population intelligence, Taiwan government extended the compulsory education to nine year on 1968. Without doubt, compulsory education is the most fundamental and important part among all education system in our country. The amount and the distribution of the population who are obligated to get compulsory education directly affect the allocation of education resource. Primary school is an important national offered public facility and education institute in Taiwan. Under present system, each primary school has its own serving area, which called school allocation district. Basically, the setting of school depend on the amount of people who have to accept the compulsory education. Their distribution determines the scale of school district serving area. Thus, this study discusses the feasibility of the current school district allocation from the aspect of population distribution. This study chooses Nontoon district in Taichung as the case study area. First, this study predicts the population amount of obligated to get the compulsory education in this area from previous census data, and discusses their distribution. Then, by setting the capacity of each primary school, the present school district can be assigned. The research result shows that among those Primary Schools in Nontoon district, Nontoon Primary School requires the necessary need to readjust her school district area.
