discuss the problems derived from tenancy system results in
inefficiency of agriculturalproduction through the investigation
of the historical economic data. Secondly,by DEA, census data of
paddy field in 1925-1927 and 1950-1951 are use to testthe
operation efficiency of paddy farms. The major finding of this
study is thatboth the result of the investigation from the
historical economic data and DEAempirical analysis are not favor
of the argument which rented farms is lessefficient than owned
farms.
