Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 外國語文學系 === 86 === Emily Dickinson is viewed as one of American literature's most expert poseurs. In her poetic world, Emily Dickinson identifies herself with traditional female roles.Her stances and postures present to us the norms and rules that dominate women's life. In this study,I will explore the female experience in Emily Dickinson's poetry in terms of the personae she adopts. Moreover,Emily Dickinson's female consciousness and the way she reconcile her female social self and real self are also the main ideas in this thesis.
