Fuzzy set model is more adequate in dealing with this kindof uncertainty. The purpose of this dissertation is to develop an approach to incoporate the subjective judgement and/or emperical or objective data to estimatethe seismic safety of structures which is a different approach from the conventionalreliability approach.
