| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 86 === Silicon Valley in California is the center of high-technology industries in the world. It''s also the cradle for information revolution, semi-conductors, PC, and internet. Taiwanese in Silicon Valley plays an important role, too. Silicon Valley, in South Bay of San Francisco, and Taiwan are in crucial positions in today''s global high-tech industries. Under these situations, personal network provides a channel to carry information. The thesis belongs to exploratory research and consists of two parts: Taiwanese in Silicon Valley and Venture Capitalists in Taiwan. Through analyzing the personal network in high-tech industry, we intend to break the limitations of existent literature and achieve following purposes:1.To explore the ways of obtaining resources from Taiwan in both Silicon Valley Taiwanese and traditional Taiwanese. .2..To explore the differences of "ties" between traditional Taiwanese and Silicon Valley Taiwanese.Five propositions and seven conclusions are made at the end of this paper. We found that the effect and role of personal network in both Silicon Valley and Taiwan are crucial and unique.
