The first chapter is a preface, which mainly states the motivation, methodology and scope of the research. The second chapter is a brief introduction to Brahms' chamber music in chronological order. Chapter Three serves as a linkage between Violin Sonata No.1 and a Lied. This chapter analyzes the connection between these two pieces of work.
