In the model, children''s ratio and proportion co ncepts were divided into thirteen subconcepts. According to the model, reseacher developed a written test of ratio and proportion. The sixth graders with in the Taichung Normal College''s assisted region were chosen as research subjects. Using the method of stratified sampling, we obtained 1014 effective written samples. The nonparametric item response theory and the item relational structure analysis theory were used as analytical tools. According to data analysis, some findings were summarized as follows: (1) By nonparametric item response theory, the item characteristic curve could be classified to five classes. And the classes were different if the concept of items was different. (2) By nonparametric item response theory, children''s comprehension of the thirteen subconcepts in the model were in the order from easy to difficult as follows: ratio sense, the meaning of ratio, part-part ratio(in fixed total), equivalence of ratio, juxtaposition of quantities in different dimensions, part-whole ratio (in fixed total), covariance(reasoningqualitatively), part-part ratio(in unfixed total), part-whole ratio(in unfixed total), thinking relatively, comparing ratios, partitioning, and employ of ratio unit. (3) By the item relational structure analysis theory, ratio sense and the meaning of ratio were easier to comprehend for the sixth graders than others. However, partitioning, comparing ratios and employ of ratio unit were difficult to comprehend for the sixth graders. (4) According to the results of data analysis, the tentative model of children''s ratio and proportion concepts proposed by researcher had to be modified. The sixth graders with in the Taichung Normal College''s assisted region were chosen as research subjects. Using the method of stratified sampling, we obtained 1014 effective
written samples. The nonparametric item response theory and the item relational structure analysis theory were used as analytical tools. According to data analysis, some findings were summarized as follows:

tentative model of children''s ratio and proportion
concepts proposed by researcher had to be modified.
