Summary:博士 === 國立師範大學 === 教育學系研究所 === 86 === The purposes of this dissertation were to understand the original history ofthe Joint College Entrance Examination (JCEE) policies in Taiwan, to explore thebackground changes of JCEE policies and admission systems,admission agencies,examination methods and subjects,the special treatments for those so calledspecial candidates (retired soldiers, overseas students,etc.), admission numbers of JCEE from 1954 to 1997, to review and discuss advantage and disadvantages of JCEE policies, and finally to offer some implications and suggestions for educationalinstitutions. The methodology adopted in this dissertation was mainly history method, andwith oberservation, interview, comparison and statistical method.This dissertationwas based on the official files and documents of the Ministry of Education of theRepublic of China (MOE) to reveal the whole facts in these periods. Finally, the researcher offered five conclusionss , seven implications andsome suggestions for MOE, colleges and universities, the senior high schools,the College Entrance Examination Center, and the further studies into this area.
