Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 園藝學系研究所 === 86 === It was due to the more demands of wetland restoration and aquatic ecosyst em design project was emerging, the more lack of information of native aquatic species was perceived. In addition, many endemic aquatic plants species at lo wland plain are threatened to extinction, because of the lose of habitats to the development. Based on these needs, the purpose of this dissertation is to study the character of native and naturalized aquatic plants and find ou t the patterns for waterfront planting design. It is hoped that these ideas ca n be put into practice when landscape architects working on the waterfront res toration and watershed planting design project. The aims of the first s tage of the research was to review the definition, habitat, and characters of aquatic plants. By compiling an aquatic plant list in Taiwan, and by literatur e review, the researcher established the major structure and process for this study. Then the researcher conducted flora survey at I-Lan,Tao-Yuan, and Taipe i counties. What follows was the field survey at the marshes, riverines , stre ams ,and abandoned rice fields of I-lan county to examine the vegetation structure by transect method. All the aquatic species was analyzed according to their basic characters, landscape characters, and ecological characters. Th en, the design patterns of using native and naturalized aquatic plants for wat erfront restoration are suggested. The results of this research found th at Salix warburgii O.Seem., Lagerstroremia subcostata Koehne are suitable for planting at riverine and pond environment. Barringtonia racemosa (L.) Blume ex DC.,Typha spp., Polygonum orientale L.are suitable at the man-made riverine and stream, others are appropriate either by relocating soils of seedbank or by seeding and transplanting. The results also found that Eichhornia crassipes Solms-Laub., Myriophyllum aquaticum (Vell.) Verdc., Gymnocoronis spilanthoide s are suitable for botany garden and water garden, wherever display effect and scenic management was highly demanded. The final part of this dissertation ex plains the planting and maintenance methods for waterfront planting project.
