Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 農業工程學系研究所 === 86 === The yield and quality of agricultural production are affected by the proper control of water during each growth stage. The crop water comsumption demand d epends on the crop varieties and climatic factorsduring the growing period. Mo st of the equations used for crop evapor-transpiration (ET) estimation is esta blished based on humidity, temperature, pan-evaporation, radiation, and wind sp eed. Although there are many meteorological stations around Taiwan, it is som etime a problem to get proper climatic data for ET estimation. The objective of this study is try to do climatic zoning for Taiwanusing multivariate statisti cal techniques such as principle componentand cluster analysis. Statistical es timations for different climate factors under different probability were found for each zone through distribution fitting. The results will be useful for re gional waterdemand planning because. This zoning study is different from other related studies done by meteorologists. Because the zoning is focusedmore on t he demand side, the precipitation is excluded in the analysis. The precipitatio n factor is more important when water supply isinterested. The island of Taiw an was classified into four climatic zones: the Eastern coast, the Southern an d Southwest coast, the Northwest coast, and the East Coastal valley. The area c overed by each zone is a bit different for each of the six climatic periods. s tatistical featurevalues were also found for each zone in each period for temp erature and humidity for use in agricultural water demand planning.
