But under many circumstance, wehave to face vairous difficulties to decide optimal redundancy allocation.For example, it is conflicting to improve the reliability of the system andto reduce the cost of the system simultaneously. Decisions on the use of redundancy to assure product reliability are typically made in early phases of a project, well before design details required for the usual reliabilitypredictions are available, and various kinds of uncertanties are involved in early phases of a project, i.e. the reliability and the cost of thecomponents. This paper aims at these uncertanties and uses fuzzy numbers to represent the reliability and the cost of the components. By the measure of the degree of satisfaction and the adjustment of the objective weights, we can establishand solve optimal redundancy allocation problem with two or more objectives. The main contributions of this paper are:1. Build a mathematical model to obtain the optimization of redundancy allocation by using the concepts of fuzzy set to the degree of satisfaction of the objective function and the objective weight.2. Use possibility distribution to replace probability in describing the reliability and the cost of the system so that the intervals of the reliability and the cost of the system demonstrate the flexibility of possibility theory.
