Qutdoors experiment was performed to find out optimal wastewater flow rate and planted density of waterhyacinth. The mutual planted with three plants to purity wastewater, The removal ability of three plants were compared in the greenhouse ,the search results were show as follow:1) 22.5kg/m2 planted density had higher removal pollutant ability than 5~12.5kg/m2.2) If the low planted density was culture, wastewater inflow to pond can with pilot method.3) The average removal rate had 38.1% NH4+-N,50%T-N,12.8% PO43--P,12.0% T-P with 2.25m3/d inflow, whereas that had 80.3%, 71.0%, 34.4%,19.4% removal rate when inflow was down to 1.13m3/ day. 4) The Same 2.25m3/day inflow rate, but waterhyacinth planted density was up to 22.5 kg-fresh weight/m2, so 88.8%NH4+- N, 83.3%T-N, 87.5%PO43--P, 96.5%SS, 80%BOD was removed. 5) The total removal rate had 100%NH4+-N, 90.2%T-N, 98.8%SS, 80~90% PO43--P,BOD, whereas water lettuce were also planted.6) The greenhouse experiment result showed: the average unit area removal rate was high in waterhyacinth pond, next was water lettuce, the duckweed was low, but the duckweed had higher absorption rate of wastewater than water lettuce.7) The average unit weigh can remove pollutants, The duckweed plant had high capability to N,P,EC, but waterhyacinth, and water lettuce had better efficacy to BOD, Because due to their larger root surface area to adsorb microorganism. 8) The mutual planted aquatic plants in field pond had high removal ability than the other experiments and greenhouse tryout. it had 1.34g-T-N/m2.d. 0.99g-NH4+-N/m2.d, 0.31g-PO43-P removal ability.
