Daylighting is composed of direct and diffuse daylight. The studies of diffuse daylight have been sustained a long time in Taiwan, but the research on the direct sunlight is seldom in the state of art. Therefore the research is to find the good combinations of horizontal shading devices by the scale model experiments outdoor. And as a result to provide the designer''s reference on the energy conservation of building design. This study includes the following content: (1) These locations of the sun in the sky change because of the changing time, so the paths that the direct solar radiation penetrates into the room changing by the time. Therefore we can find the both solar azimuth and altitude have much influences upon the results in many aspects. With the daylighting performance in the different conditions of opening and the ratio of sunshade''s depth, we can find the best combination of shading device have been found. (2) The data of scale model tests under designed combinations have been analyzed. The regression models are being built for predicting different situation. (3) The impact of influence for different daylighting and shading coefficient factors has been analyzed. The priority of influence among those factors is being made. To assist designers to meet their daylighting and shading requirements. With the assistance of the computer technology, the data bank and the model of regression equation have been build. These results of the analysis will help the designer realize the efficiency of daylight in different solar angles.
