Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 86 === In the course of formation of the present "community movements " in Taiwan, the professionals in the realm of spatial planning realize the structural problems of the society by operating actual cases. Consequently, the gist of this thesis is to discuss the phenomena of alienation between spaces and men, because "men", the subject of space, have been ignored in the realm of positivism. Since participation has traits of "power-yielding" and "physical mobilization", the inhabitants can be set on the process of design, Therefore, by the concepts of space of the real field, we can perceive the multiplicity of place, also realize the real conditions of communal lives. Moreover, this can contribute to comprehending the methods of particiatory design. Accordingly, by taking view of the theories of lived space, we can deal with "participation" being the means of design/planning renewedly. In the case study of Hoe-ju wae Park finished through participatory design, we observe and interview the users of this park, so that we find out the changes of lived plans of the inhabitants after finishing, the meanings of the participatory design for the inhabitants, and the usage of common lives in the park, Because the inhabitants through participation finish this park, it is the difference form the other parks. Based on the Lefebrve''s theories of social space and action research, we want to perceive the alternative way of production process of space for the inhabitants through present usage and interviews. First, by discussing the transformation of the area of Hoe-ju-wae, we find out that the inhabitants have been forming the unique landscape of Hoe-ju-wae, and the landscape has been influencing the inhabitants'' common lives likewise. Having the particular context of production of space, it has been forming the particular sense of place and way of communal lives. Due to overweighting economical developments after 1950''s, the "creative destruction" in capitalistic cities caused the alienation between space and life, also made men not being the subject of space. In this situation, a series of problems of the perished circumstances come into the communities. The participatory design of Hou-ju-wae brought the chance to the communal spaces for changing. Through participation, the inhabitants imagined teh future of the park together and improved the quality of teh physical circumstances. On the other hand, the process of participation and interaction made a brand-new communal relationship between inhabitants, men adn circumstances. In this case, we also perceive a new means of production of space, the influence of the later usage, management, and maintenance, and the problems or difficulties during the operation. The communal mobilization caused by the Community Development Institution or the environmental issues of this park can raise communal consciousness through collective activeties. On the other hand, the practice of inhabitants'' common lives in the park forms, roots, and consolidates the identity of subject of the inhabitants, and reproduces a new communal relationship meanwhile. The process of this case can provide an introspected attitude dealing with space and an angle of lived space realizing the multiplicity for professionals renewdly.
