| Summary: | 碩士 === 大同工學院 === 工業設計研究所 === 86 === The lack of ergonomic consideration in QWERTY keyboard designing contributed many operating problems which caused harm to health. In accompany with the increase in the use of computer, the harm caused by the improper operating posture has also been increased. In addition, all of the current Chinese input method is develop on the base of the structure of QWERTY keyboard which has embedded problems. One of the solutions in keyboard research in the resent year is the chord keyboard of which the number of thThe principles of chord keyboard and of modifier key were combined in this study. With the consideration of cognitive psychology, the phonic symbols were classified and encoded. With regard to the ergonomic, the ideal operating postures of hands were adopted to measure the angles and distances associated with operating keyboard under static condition. One hand chord-mode keyboard with 10 keys and two hand chord-mode keyboard with 15 keys were designed accordingly. The matched driver was also programmed t In this test, there are 12 subjects who were experimented with two models-one hand operating and two hand operating. The subjects could reach basic performance after 24 trials, each lasting 10 minutes. The research has realized the practicability of chord-mode keyboard, and showed the positive effect of applying cognitive psychology in keyboard design-not only in helping the laid out of keys, but also in reducing the memory load of the user by an on screen keyboard. The potential to develop the one hanThe problems caused by QWERTY keyboard have been dramatically reduced with the consideration of ergonomic and the possibility of adjustment. Adopting the chord mode keyboard, users can have safer and more comfortable posture to use computer.
