The approximate linearization for nonlinear time-varying systems without outputs is presented by a quadratic form. We only solve a set of linear equations instead of exact linearization method solving the partial differential equations. This method transforms the nonlinear time-varying systems to the approximate linear time-invariant form. The pseudo-linearization is used for the nonlinear time-varying systems with output. A necessary and sufficient condition is derived to transform a nonlinear time-varying system into a pseudo-normal form. A pseudo-linearized system has the property that its family of linearizations about constant operating points has input-output behavior that is independent of the operating point.
