Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 機械系 === 87 === Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies have been widely used in manufacturing for more than ten years. In order to obtain the best performance during fabrication, a best RP system requires not only an accurate hardware machine, but also an efficient slicing technology and software implementation. It''s further development for Rapid Tooling (RT) fits for the requirement of quick changed product market in the 21st century. We hope that using RP technologies can reduce the lead time from design through manufacturing, and increase product competitions. The main objective of this thesis is the development of fundamental theory and algorithm for the RP CAD data processing technology. The technology includes the efficient data structure for RP processing, slicing algorithm analysis for STL file, path planning for material delivery, advanced direct slicing algorithm analysis, 3-D computer graphic animation for RP processing, and the error analyses for slicing and path density. We hope that this research can conduct the fundamental understanding of the RP CAD processing, its advantages in RT applications, and the domestic capability of developing RP system.
