| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 87 === The advents of Internet and signal compression technologies of modern audio have provided a potential manner for foreign language learning, especially the training of listening comprehension. However, in the current Internet audio streaming scenerio, the lack of synchronous playback of the audio and the corresponding dialog text indeed hurdle the efficacy of foreign language listening comprehension training.
In this thesis, a streaming audio/text synchronous playback system is proposed to assist the training of foreign language comprehension. In the system, novel authoring tools have been implemented by using JAVA language to facilitate the authoring of the synchronization information between the digital audio clips and the corresponding dialog sentences and playback by a pure JAVA real-time streaming codec system. In this thesis, the proposed client-server based framework is addressed and the detailed implementation of the authoring/playback system is elaborated. It''''s undoubtable that using the complete system will greatly enhance the efficancy of foreign language training.
