| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立體育學院 === 體育研究所 === 87 === The purpose to carry out this research is to get a better understanding on the current status of the school games holding in the primary schools of Taoyuan Hsien, and compare at the same time the status between different schools. Following the research are worked out a written conclusion and suggestion, which are available for all the primary schools while the holding of the school games for their reference.
The research is based upon a "Questionnaire on the current status of the schools games holding in the primary schools" developed by ourselves and carried out on 157 primary schools in Taoyuan Hsien. The valid questionnaires being collected back are 148 copies. According to the obtained documents, some analysises and discussions are carried out by means of descriptive statistics. Results of the research as following:
A. Most of the primary schools in Taoyuan Hsien hold the school games once half a year: the date for the games in principle is the anniversary of the school, and will organize a committee for the preparation. The items of the games include: track and field events, games for fun and shows. The items of the games will be decided by the committee for the preparation, and the unit for the games will be the class. The participants are all the teachers and students of the school and the expenses are mainly sponsored by the Parents Union. The school games will last for a whole day. The judges will be the teachers of the school because most of the schools do not organize a committee of judges. The prizes for student winners are in principle gifts. For such kind of school games, there will be an opening and a closing ceremony. The opening ceremony will include the rites, shows and the round of all the athletes these 3 parts. For the closing ceremony, there will be nothing special. A discussion meeting will always be held after the games. The most serious factor which will influence the holding of the school games is primarily the problem of expenses. Following is the problem of place and the lack of equipment, personnel, too many members of the school and a lack of willingness from the teachers.
B. The difference between A(CHIH), B(JEN), and C(YUN) three types of schools on the holding of the school games
1. Holding frequency: for an annual holding frequency, the A type school performs the best and the B type school the worst.
2. Expenses resources: all of these three types of schools are mainly sponsored by the parents union which accounts the largest portion of the expenses resources. However, concerning the budget proportion, in the C type of school, the proportion is evidently much higher than the other two types.
3. The annoying factors: short of expenses and lack of equipment are the common problems for these three types of schools. Regarding the A type school, the most annoying factor is that the number of students is much over. As for B type and C type schools, the top ranking annoyance is the lack of personnel.
