This project wants to build a single cell wireless multimedia communication system in the campus of National Central University. The communication system contains Reed-Solomon encoding, interleaving scheme, π/4-DQPSK modulation, slow frequency hopping, root raised cosine filter, differential detection, hard decision, and Berlekamp decoder. The project uses ISM band, so the system should observe the standard. The channel environment is assumed time non-selective and frequency selective Rayleigh fading. The channel model of this thesis is two-ray fading channel. The performance of this communication system is assessed, and the characteristic of burst error is observed. Besides, because the convenience of using mathematical model, the model of burst error is built. The models considered here are simplified Fritchman’s model (SFM) and hidden Markov model (HMM).
