The background variables include school types, gender, grade, ethnic groups, families'' social and economic status, the experience of leadership in the class, and the major source of legal knowledge. The subjects of this study are 1032 students, including 5th and 6th grade students in Hualien area. This study conducts survey to understand students legal knowledge and attitudes. The methods of frequency, percentage, mean, t-test, one-way ANOVA, χ2 test, and Pearson product-moment correlation are applied to analyze the data. The following findings are emerged from this study: First, the average rate of correct answer in legal knowledge test is 68.3%. Excepting gender , there is a significant difference between / among six dependent variables concerning students'' background. These dependent variables are school types, ethnic groups, grade, social and economic status, the experience of leadership in the class, and the major source of legal knowledge. Second, the average score in legal attitude scale is 4.06. Excepting grade, there is a significant difference between / among six dependent variables concerning students'' background. These dependent variables are school types, gender, ethnic groups, social and economic status, the experience of leadership in the class, and the major source of legal knowledge. Third, there is a significant positive relationship between legal knowledge and attitudes. Finally, according to the findings, this study provides several suggestions and implementations of the law-related education for elementary schools. Keywords: Legal knowledge, Legal attitudes
