Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 工業工程與工程管理學系 === 87 === The purpose of this study is to build a complete indices model of notebook manufacturing management and locate improvement opportunities and drivers for Taiwan notebook plants through benchmarking performance indices. Data is collected from 7 major manufacturers in Taiwan by questionnaire and interviews. The cumulative production volume of these manufacturers constitutes 68﹪of Taiwan''s total notebook computers production in 1998, which, in turn, is about 39﹪of the world production. Our contributions include: 1) refining manufacturing management model for notebook plants; 2) benchmarking performance indices in factory / line / station level; 3) identifying improvement drivers through correlation; 4) using data envelopment analysis to identify inefficiencies and quantitative reference for productivity improvement target by using production as output, numbers of key machines and labors as input. We use correlation to find out the relationship among performance indices and their determinants thus identifying several useful performance drivers for equipment management, including increasing the training time for new employees, reducing MTTR, increasing the percentage of DOE during engineering change, reducing the frequency to engineering change , increasing the percentage to solder point testing during PCBA and observing the ORT-Ratio etc..
