Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 體育研究所 === 87 === A Comparison of the Moral Judgement of Elementary School Athletes and Non-Athletes Advisor: Dr. Hsu Yi-hsiung Student: Chen Yung-hung June 1999 Abstract The objective of this study is to discuss differences in the moral judgement of elementary school athletes and non-athletes in sports and normal living situations respectively. Test subjects included 35 volleyball players and 33 swimmers. The research methods employed were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The frequency ratio spread and previous non-(正交) of the results were compared and statistical processing carried out using the Dunnett (1955) tD Test. Then quantitative and qualitative analyses were carried out on the contents of the questionnaires and interviews so that equal importance would be placed on both qualitative and quantitative research. The results are as follows: In sporting situations, the moral judgement of elementary school volleyball players and swimmers was distributed for the most part in stage 2: the instrument relativist orientation (51.4%, 45.5%) while most non-athletes were in stage 3: the interpersonal concordance or “good boy-nice girl” orientation (47.1%). This reveals that moral judgement of volleyball players and swimmers in sporting situations is lower than that of non-athletes. In everyday life situations, the moral judgement of elementary school volleyball players and swimmers was distributed for the most part in stage 3 (45.7%, 54.5%) while most non-athletes were in stage 3 (55.9%). This reveals that moral judgement of volleyball players and swimmers in everyday life situations is more in harmony with that of non-athletes. The results following comparison of previous non-(正交) of the moral judgement maturity fraction (MMS) of the subjects are as follow: 1. There is a significant difference in the moral judgement of elementary school volleyball players and swimmers in sporting situations as compared with non-athletes. 2. There is a significant difference in the moral judgement of elementary school volleyball players in normal living situations as compared with non-athletes. 3. There is not a significant difference in the moral judgement of elementary school swimmers in sporting situations as compared with non-athletes. 4. There is a significant difference in the moral judgement of elementary school athletes in normal living situations as compared with non-athletes. In this paper, it was discovered that moral judgement factors of athletes in sporting situations can be differentiated as follows: 1. The athletes 2. Coaches (teachers) 3. The situation Keywords: athletes, morality of sport, moral judgement
