It''s a good tool for coastal watch. In this thesis, Wavelet analysis is used to detect the edge of oil slick, ice, ship wake, upwelling, internal wave, coastline and Kuroshio boundary, etc. in SAR images. It''s help to track and analysis further. In this thesis wavelet transform is used to detect the edges of a fractal image and a gray level gradually changed image to varify its ability and accuracy first, then it is used to extract the ocean features in the SAR images. The working procedures at present is semi-automatic. In the future, we hope to include the texture identification and build a SAR image database to develop an automatic ocean feature detect tool.
