According to the responses of 236 female teachers to a "Female Teacher Career Development and Job Satisfaction Survey Inventory" , it was found that : (1) the scale could discriminate female teachers'''' career development stages , there were 34% of female teachers who were in career maturity and acclimation stage ; 27% in career learning and enthusiastic stage ; 23% in career frustration and lost stage ; 16% in career hesitation and passivity stage. (2) Based on seven personal and school variables ( including their age , educational background , teaching experiences , marriage , number of children , job position , school size ) , the analysis of variance showed that personal and school environmental factors influenced female teachers'''' career development stages. (3) Female teachers had high job satisfaction ; nevertheless their job satisfaction differed with their age , educational background , teaching experiences , marriage , number of children , job position , and school size. (4) Female teachers'''' career development stages and job satisfaction correlated to each other. Female teachers'''' job satisfaction differed with their career development stages.
