Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 土木工程學研究所 === 87 === High speed rail (HSR) system is under development on the west corridor Taiwan by a build-operate-transfer (BOT) Approach. The concession company, Taiwan HSR company will have 35 years to build and operate the HSR system and would consider maximum profit as its main objective. However, the government would like to achieve the maximum social welfare objective with the mega-BOT project. It is desirable to understand effects of different fare schemes on the two objectives. This research applies analytic optimization approach to analyze optimal fare of the HSR system with objectives of the maximization of operator profit and social welfare. The study considers a distance-based fare structure, while considering logit model as the basis of demand model. Variable and capital cost are all be included in the cost function with a distance-based cost allocation method. The result of this research could provide information with which the HSR company can ensure its profitability while the government can have more reasonable regulation on the HSR pricing mechanism.
