Therefore, the authorities are devoted to promote the utility rate of public transit by applying effectively, updating at the right moment, and providing the public correct information. The purpose of the research is to build a practical bus route querying system. By combining with geographic information system, we make it with the functions of detailed graphic display interface and spatial query.   The demand of the public that catching bus information was analyzed. In addition, the bus database should be considered and be proved so that to deal with updating buses data conveniently. In this research there were two major systems: 1) bus Information Querying System. 2) bus data maintenance system.   There were three conclusions in this research: 1) lots of kinds of coverage and positional methods were offered so that to match the purpose of human-factor queries. 2) the bus stop coverage by applying cartographic generalization was designed. 3) the concepts of dynamic segmentation and shortest path were combined to make the bus line coverage. A hypothesize was brought up that buses are driven along the shortest path of the main road.
