Research tools used include ”Foster Parents’ Characteristics Questionnaire”, “Checklist of Foster Parents’ Job Satisfaction”, “Checklist of Foster Parents’ Degree of Perplexity”, and “Checklist of Characteristics of Entrusting Agency”. The questionnaire was sent to foster families from 19 Family Helper Projects of CCF/Taiwan, and 209 valid samples were collected. The numerical distribution, percentage, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson r correlation were used for data analysis, and the results as following: A. The degree of perplexity plays an important role on foster parents’ job satisfaction. 1.The degree of perplexity and foster parents’ job satisfaction, both intrinsic and extrinsic have significant negative relationship. 2.The degree of perplexity and foster parents’ willingness to continue serving have significant negative relationship. B. Foster parents’ intrinsic and extrinsic satisfaction and foster parents’ willingness to continue serving have significant positive relationship. C. There are significant differences between the degree of perplexity and some characteristics of foster parents, such as their education background, the number of children, the age of oldest and youngest children, and the number of foster children. D. Characteristics of foster parents and job satisfaction: 1. There is significant difference in the satisfaction of supervision relationship among the foster parents of different age. 2. There is significant difference in the satisfaction of emotion and self-fulfillment among the foster parents with different ages of their own oldest children. E. Characteristics of entrusting agency, such as “supervision methods”, “supervision duties”, and “training and welfare policy” and foster parents’ degree of perplexity have significant negative relationship. F. Characteristics of entrusting agency, such as “supervision methods”, “supervision duties”, and “training and welfare policy” and foster parents’ intrinsic & extrinsic satisfaction have significant positive relationship. G. There is no significant relationship between the above characteristics of entrusting agency and the willingness to continue serving.
