Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 化學工程學系 === 87 === The influence of aspect ratio on the separation performance in a flat-plate cross-flow membrane extractor has been investigated theoretically and experimentally. The theoretical analysis of mass transfer coefficient in membrane extractors was analogous to the heat transfer in heat exchangers. Experiments for the extraction of acetic acid from an aqueous solution to methyl isobutyl ketone were carried out in a single-pass flat-plate microporous membrane extraction. An improvement of extraction efficiency coupled with the enlargement of power consumption was found as the aspect ratio increased. Although the relative power consumption for the fluid flow will rapidly increase due to the increase of aspect ratio, the power consumption for the flow in the devices of interest is small, and may be ignored.
