Summary: | 碩士 === 中正理工學院 === 兵器系統工程研究所 === 88 === The vertical launching system (VLS) is the launcher to fire missiles from their shipping containers from below deck.
The system design and architecture has resulted in a launcher characterized by modularity, reliability and multiple warfare capability. The missile canisters of VLS serve as shipping, storage and firing for individual missiles. The canister structures must be designed to perform their tasks and withstand the forces of rocket blast, underwater shock and sea-state loading. This study employs ABAQUS/USA finite element techniques to analyze the strength of missile canister and compare the corrugated steel canister with the plate steel canister. The effects of height, angle and width of corrugated canister are also discussed. The results can offer design parameters of corrugated canister for structural optimum design. Further, this study performs elastoplastic analysis using beam and plate element to analyze the structural response of missile canister and ship under underwater shock and bad sea-state. It can provide information which would either justify or improve the design recommendations for launching system.
