Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 成人及繼續教育研究所 === 88 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the current conditions characteristic, developmental models, self-growth of the members, effectiveness and the influential factors for study circles in the elementary and high schools in Chiayi Area. The results of the study can suggest the practitioners of school study circles to adopt proper models according to their educational goals, needs, resources and members, so that school management, teaching activities and community construction can be promoted. The lifelong learning society can be coming earlier. Therefore the methods of this study include interview, questionnaire survey and participation observation to fifteen study circles of thirteen schools in Chiayi Area. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The five models for extending school study circles can consider the goals of individual school and the needs of the members. 2. The schools offer lots of assistance to the study circles. 3. Every study circle acts independently, democratically, and flexibly to meet the needs of the members. 4. Every school study circle can react its innate character- reading and discussing. 5. After the members participate in the school study circles, their abilities of “discussing and sharing” and “reading and thinking” are increased more remarkably, but the knowledge and abilities of “administration planning” and “community concerning” aren’t. 6. After the members participate in the school study circles, they can mate recognization with practice: the knowledge and abilities of “interpersonal relationship and communication” and “lifelong learning” are generally increased. 7. Every study circle can effectively come to the goals: promoting personal growth and establishing interpersonal relationship of the members, but not for the school teaching activities. 8. The plans of the five models are according to the needs of the members, and every model has their unique tasks or vision. 9. The most important factor about extending study circles is: the visions of principals and dominators, but the places and facilities are the least important. 10. The influential factors about extending study circles are different among the five models in gradation. According to the results of this study, the researcher proposes the following suggestions: 1.For the school educators (1) To set up the extending group to design suitable models by referring to the current circumstances characteristic in Chiayi Area and considering the conditions, needs of individual school. (2) To extend the school study circles positively by opening the school facilities and driving the lifelong learning habits of the community residents. (3) To meet “educational Reformation” and do “experimental research” according to the conditions and resources of individual school. (4) To encourage teachers to combine “action research” with professional knowledge and ability to provide the various “school based” study circles. 2.For the government and the social education institution (1) To fulfill the education policy, projects and planning about extending school study circles. (2) To reward and conduct national study circles to bring along the atmosphere of learning and establish the developmental basis of the learning society. 3.For the academic organization (1) To integrate the resources of the government and the private organization to set up the national study circle committee, and to provide professional direction and service. (2) To plan the training activities for the leaders of the study circles and build the “recognized and certificated system”.
