This leads very heavy load so that it is also the bottleneck on the switch. Thus, a switch with multicast transmission technology is a flexible, cost-effective solution for the widespread problem. The purpose of this thesis is to implement multicast service for ATM Internet Switch (AIS). This AIS is a switch for LAN/WAN with the capability of switching cell and packet routing. For the implement of multicast service in the AIS, a proper and optimum driver is designed.
