Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 電機工程研究所 === 88 === Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is widely acknowledged as the base technology of broadband network. ATM provides a unique ability to handle the real-time networking requirements of emerging multimedia applications, while providing compatibility with the increasing bandwidth needs for current installations. ATM solutions are being deployed throughout the wide area and enterprise network backbone, and all the way to the desktop and home. User-Network Interface (UNI) defines the primary specification for end-system to connect to ATM networks. The ATM Internet Switch (AIS) built by ITRI/CCL does not support the UNI signaling, which is the key component of establishing SVC in the ATM network since the AIS also possesses the role of an Internet router, it need to support network side signaling, but also the user side signaling. In this thesis, we report now we implement the UNI signaling capabilities in an embedded system (AIS).
