For the hemodialysis patients, “Hope” should be the main strength and internal resource to overcome those stresses; But, there are lots of factors influencing patients''“Hope”. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the hemodialysis patients’ hope and related factors. The research design employed a cross-sectional survey approach and purposed sampling. The 112 subjects were the End Stage Renal Disease patients received chronic hemodialysis. The data was analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s Productmoment Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. This study employed three measurement instruments: (1)The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale ;(2)Weinert''s Personal Resource Questionnaire part Ⅱ, and(3)Herth Hope Index(HHI). The results showed that: 1. The full mark of hope state was 48, the score of patients having income (35.98) was significant higher than that of patients without income (34.23). 2. The level of hope of patients who considered that religious beliefs were big help was significant higher than those who didn''t. 3. The level of hope of patients who could take care of their daily life was significant higher than those who couldn''t. 4. The level of hope of patients who considered their health status were good was significant higher than those who didn''t. 5. The level of hope of patients who didn''t be hospitalized in the recent one year was significant higher than those who did. 6. The level of hope of patients who only received hemodialysis was significant higher than those who had ever received the cures of CAPD or Kidney Transplantation but didn''t success. 7. There were significant positive relationships between level of hope of hemodialysis patients and level of Albumin. 8. There were significant positive relationships between level of hope of patients and level of Self-esteem. 9. There were significant positive relationships between level of hope of patients and level of social support. 10. Self-esteem, social support, work hour, level of Albumin were the best predictor of hope of hemodialysis patients. 11. For hemodialysis patients, their spouses were the main resource of hope.
