Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 工業工程與管理研究所 === 88 === The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of fit-ting relationship between manufacturing flexibility capabilities and business strategy on business performance. Manufacturing flexibility capabilities include new product flexibility, product mix flexibility, product modification flexibility, volume flexi-bility, delivery flexibility, and service flexibility. This study quotes a hybrid typology of business strategies, which catego-rized the business strategy into three types named preemptive strategy, differentiated-follower strategy, and low cost-follower strategy. Besides, the fitting relationship between manufacturing flexibility capabilities and business strategies were developed to be research hypotheses and examined empirically based on the data collected from 95 manufacturing firms. This study results indicate that firms must adopt their business strategies based on different dimensions of manufacturing flexibility capabilities in order to improve the performance in new product introduction, net profit, and sales growth.
