Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 化學工程學系 === 88 === The mixture of N-isopropylacrylamide and crosslink N,N''-methylenebisacrylamide, crosslinking agent, was polymerized into copolymer particles by using inversed suspension polymerization. These copolymer particles possess thermo-sensitive properties. As the temperature higher than its LCST, these particles become more hydrophobic, while as the temperature lower than its LCST, they become more hydrophilic, and their volum are several times larger than its original volume. It will be a potential energy saving sorbent for dehumidizer by using its hydrophilic and thermo property. These copolymer particles were characterized for their temperature-sensitive behavior by swelling experiment in water, and using differential scanning calorimetry. The ability of dehumidity and regeneration of these particles were determined by the dynamic adsorption apparatus. The swelling ratio of the copolymer gels is a function of temperature. A transition temperature can be found, approximately 33.5℃ obtained and a discontinuous phase change is accrued. The equilibrium swelling ratio and swelling rate was decreased as the MBAAm content increasing. The amount of water vapor adsorbed by the PNIPAm particles in the adsorption-dehumidification system was increased as particle size is decreased. Good adsorption capacity can be achieved by regenerated the particles at 50℃.
