In 1995, a melanin biosynthesis inhibitor , (5aR*,6R*,9R*,9aS*)-4-cinnamoyl-3,6-dihydroxy-1-methoxy-6-methyl-9-(1-methylethyl)-5a,6,7,8,9,9a-hexahydrodibenzofuran 9 (cinnamoyl-hexahydro dibenzofuran derivative 9), was isolated from Lindera umbellata.It is used as our "Lead". We would like to synthesize the "Lead" compound-hexahydrodibenzo- -furan as well as a serious of effective compounds against the biosynthesis of melanin.
