This study applies a triangular approach, including in-depth interview and participatory observation to collect qualitative data. The results of this study show the concept of the body autonomy of female patients with breast cancer, which is constituted with three themes, including information accessibility, attitudes toward medical treatment, and choices of treatment. The theme of information accessibility shows that the female patients are lack of self-confidence and tends to be passive in obtaining related information. The theme of attitude toward medical treatment finds that patients'' attitudes toward treatment are influenced by physician authority. The theme of choices of treatment indicates that the critical factors affecting patients'' decision-making in treatment choice are the physical condition and physician suggestion. The results of this study suggest: 1. To integrate the component of bio- ethics into medical college education. 2. To empower the female patients'' rights on health care. 3. To provide a comprehensive information related to health care. 4. To upgrade the quality of medical social workers. 5. To enact a comprehensive health care policy for women. 6. To advocate the importance of self-examination in breast for women. Shu-Man Pan 潘淑滿 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 129 zh-TW |
