After treated with different sintering times and temperatures for the ceramics, the best condition and if it had the possibility for the ceramics to be the substrate of alumina membrane were determined. It is found that : 1. Samples sintered at 1150 and 1100 ℃ for 3 and 2 hours, respectively with NaCl particles additions would have the values of specific flow rate of gas improve 7~8 times, compared with the original ceramics. 2. SEM examinations revealed that bonding between the alumina membrane and the substrate was well - developed.
