Hearing aid users are always harassed with the background noise. The system, based on the constrained adaptive beamformer described by Griffiths and Jim, adapts to preserve speech signal from straight ahead and minimize background noise arriving from other directions. A real time implementation of the Griffiths-Jim beamformer was achieved with a TMSC3x DSK and some other analog integrated circuits. The evaluation employ a real time hardware implementation and are restricted to the case of a single background noise. Performance is measured by comparison of the speech signal and the background noise amplitude. Results show that the background noise at declined by 62% compare with the speech signal. * the author **the advisor Cheng-Chi Tai 戴政祺 2000 學位論文 ; thesis 54 zh-TW
