To support cooperating users in a workgroup a easy and effective working environment for document exchange and sharing, we design a Document Collaboration and Retrieval system (DCRS) based on the XML technology , which is an emerging technology for data presentation. The system can support users an environment to exchange and share documents and make annotations in an easy and effective way.
In the system design, we propose the information object management model based on XML encoding scheme. The model can facilitate the system design and provide good extensibility for future need. We will describe how the system is designed and implemented.
