Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 化學研究所 === 88 === The purpose of this work is to design an energy transfer-based sensory conjugated polymer with both end capped with mono-aza-15-crown-5 subsituted stilbene fluorophores. A red shift of fluorescence emission induced by Ca2+ and Y3+ has been found for both polymer 1 and polymer 2, indicating that the stilbene fluorophores have nothing to do with the fluorescence response. The increase of conjugation of the polymer backbone due to metal ion-induced conformational change is attributed to the red shift of emission. Results from similar emission studies on the model segment and its X-ray crystal structure support our proposition and also demonstrated the better sensing performance of polymer vs. monomer. In addition, attempts to form a bis(crown-stilbene)-based sensor by taking advantage of the double crown receptors for large metal ions has been shown to be unsuccessful.
