In early stages, human use different kind of tools, like mud or wood, to take down some massage by character. Although it is distinct from the publishing that we used to use today, but it is a embryo of publishing. Because, both of them have the same purpose- propagation and preservation the massage.
Observe the history of publishing. There are two revolutions to change the substance of publishing. One is paper , another is printing. In those revolutions of substance, publishing had took shape in this model that we used today. Paper and Printing frame the publishing that we used today. Paper-printing model control the publishing.
But when the computer and internet appeared. There are some opportunies and threats to publishing. Computer and internet are also the third revolutions of substance to publishing.
In the early, publisher can use computer to help them to deal with some work ,like editing and so on. But follow the technique and application of computer and internet are batter then before, the charge from computer and internet are bigger to publisher. Publisher must to face the different model from paper-printing model.
