Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 科學教育研究所 === 88 === In light of the idea that “teachers are researchers”, the purpose of this research is to improve the natural science subject teaching in the elementary level through the method of the action research while computer network teaching is the focus of the instructional design. The main task of this study was to examine students’ affective attitude toward the web-based instruction and the effect of interaction between teacher and students. To create a network learning environment, an instructional website was constructed in which web-based learning activities were designed anchored in the scaffold provided by the learning cycle principle. The main function of the website constructed was to offer the problem-exploring situation and the context for concept application.
The findings of this research are presented as follow: (1). The development of the website needs to take into consideration the functional needs in teaching and learning, students’ computer literacy and school computer facilities. In progressing, the website design would be better guided by content experts, students’ feedback and teachers’ reflection. (2). According to Attitude toward Science in School Assessment, most students expressed their satisfaction in making experiments by themselves, thinking answers of their own, having more fun in the classroom, and acquiring content knowledge from network resources. However, about 20% of participants showed their disliking in using work sheet. There is a statistically significant difference between the scores of students who attained the web-based instruction and those merely taught by lectures. (3). While the forum page was visited quite frequently, students did not pay much attention to questions posed by the instructor when they were required to reply the questions individually. Also, the results from Attitude toward Computer Questionnaire and the Joyfulness Questionnaire indicated that students had positive attitude toward anxiety, confidence and enjoyment after having gone through the designed instruction.
