Summary:碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 機械與輪機工程學系 === 88 === Based on the principles of fluid mechanics and heat transfer, a computer program concerning design work of condensers is developed by referring to the requirements proposed by TEMA (Tubular Exchanger Manufacturing Association) and HEDH (Heat Exchanger Design Handbook). In a prescribed condition, energy balance is first investigated. When the diameter and length of the tube are selected, the overall heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer area and pressure drops in a condenser are calculated. Finally, allowance is added or modification is made to complete a better design work. The present code is written in Visual Basic and Access database, which provided by Microsoft has been widely used in personal computers. Through the aid of the code, input data are easily varied and results will come out simultaneously. The advantages in saving time and labor as well as the ease in storage and communication which facilitate the usage in the present program. There are numerous parameters involved in the heat exchanger design work, a tedious manipulation will be done again on condition that a parameter is changed. By means of using the proposed program, the results can be obtained immediately and correctly, and which make the design work more practical.
