This thesis takes advantage of the questionnaire to investigate the implementation of the businesses knowledge management in Taiwan. Case study is also employed to probe into and compare the knowledge management activities and their models in various industries. Finally, a common knowledge management model is inferred from the analysis of this study. In this study, 313 questionnaires are issued and 100 retrieved, the valid ones are 92, and the rate of valid data retrieved is 29.39%. As for case study, 6 companies representing various industries are chosen to proceed the study of their knowledge management status and models. Conclusions made from this study are: 1. 33.7% out of the sample data have special staff to be in charge of the integration and management of business knowledge. 2. As assigning special staff to be in charge of knowledge management, different industries have different attitudes, but in selecting measures to improve knowledge management, there is no difference in different industries. 3. Information technology has played a very important role in knowledge management. 4. The most widespread difficulties in knowledge management are the lack of efficiency and the lack of suitable ways. Furthermore, the most difficult in knowledge creation is the lack of proper management integration staff. 5. The highest effectiveness on knowledge management is found in marketing, and the relative lowest is in human resource. 6. The most important reasons of effectivesness in knowledge management are coordination of all staff and superior chiefs’ realization of its importance. 7. The difficulties in knowledge management is mal-communication, the selfish departmentalism on the part of the staff, the unwillingness to share, and the lack of mutual trust. 8. In general, researches on knowledge management focus on the scope of theories and explorative study.
