碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 土木工程學研究所 === 88 === The concept of professional construction management (PCM), triggered in the United States in the 1960s , has been carried out for nearly twenty years in Taiwan. The legal basis for PCM in public works has been established completely since the announcement of the government procurement two years ago. As a result, the utilization of PCM in public works will increase dramatically. Therefore, the evaluation of one project to implement PCM by the owner and the operation criterions form the PCM works become two of the most important issues while PCM is implemented on Taiwan’s public works. This study analyzes the process of PCM service on the construction stage of public school buildings utilizing several research methods simultaneously, such as questionnaires, expertise interview and case study. To summarize, the contributions of this study are: 1. ” The demand-strength matrix of PCM for school building ” is constructed to assist the owner to evaluate and judge if or not to commission PCM service. 2. The operation process of commissioning PCM service is established. 3. The contents and authority of PCM are illustrated and decided respectively. 4. Implementation model for PCM is analyzed. 5. Operating criterions for PCM service are established
