Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 土木工程學研究所 === 88 === Cash flow management is essential to construction companies. However most of the construction companies in Taiwan didn’t pay enough attention to the importance of cash flow forecasting and thus might cause serious financial problems. A successful cash flow forecasting model and system would provide useful information to avoid bankrupt or financial risk. The purpose of this study is to develop such a cash flow forecasting system for contractors. This study presents a cash flow forecasting model first. Basic elements such as the interest rate, markup and tax, and retainage are built up in the model. Special contractual conditions in Taiwan such as advanced payment, performance bond, payment period, and sub-contracting practice, and time lag due to the ways of payments are also considered in the model. According to the model, this study developed a multi-project cash flow forecasting system which automatically generates various cash flow charts and tables for financial management needs based on construction schedules produced by general project management systems. The system not only helps to improve the manual workings of cash flow calculating but also improves the financial management as well as the competitiveness for those companies lacking of experiences.
